Good morning, Calgary. If you’ve never felt the energy of a marathon before, try to find a spot along the race route for the Calgary Marathon. It’s surprisingly fun! If running’s not your thing, it’s a good thing that dinosaurs are extinct, so you don’t need to run from two dino-themed events this weekend.

Calgary Marathon - For the 60th year, Calgarians will be running the Calgary Marathon. Runner will start at 7:00 am from Stampede Trail and finish at Enmax Mark. All distances are sold out, but if you’ve never watched a marathon before, it’s surprisingly quite fun cheering on the runners as they gut it out for 42.2 km (26.2 miles).

REAL ESTATE FOR SALE

If you’re in the market for a new home in Calgary, it might be wise to ask for a discount on the sky-high mortgage rates the banks offer. A story broke this past week in which Robert McLister, a mortgage specialist, said that mortgage lenders are offering “extreme discounts” behind the scenes. The rental market vacancy rate remains extremely low, at only 1.4%. This makes it hard for people to find places to rent. It is especially tough to find a unit in the NE, where the rate is 0.2%, and in the NW, where the rate is 0.8%.

Drumheller - If you didn’t get enough dinos at Dinosaur World Live, you could head 1.5 hours NE of Calgary to Drumheller. The Royal Tyrrell Museum is home to some of the best dinosaur fossils in the world. In addition to the museum, you can climb to the top of the World’s Largest Dinosaur, standing 26 m tall, and take in the natural beauty of the hoodoos.
